Pat Cooper Has Made Audiences Laugh
The Coopers did not plan to have a real store.
Patricia Cooper only intended to start a Web site selling hunting equipment, but her distributors said she needed at least a small store. As Hunter’s World Inc. started to draw more local customers, Cooper found she preferred the one-on-one interaction.
“During hunting season, it is very entertaining in here. You get guys who come in and tell you about the big turkey they missed, or they will bring a deer by here and show it to me,” Cooper said.
Q: What services or products do you provide?
A: We do long guns, handguns, hunting supplies, and we special order fishing supplies.
Q: Who are your key leaders?
A: That would be me and Michael, my husband.
Q: How many people do you employ?
A: I am here all the time and Kevin Lane. He is a sales manger.
Q: When were you established?
A: We opened in June 2007. We just started doing handguns and long guns in April 2008.
Q: What’s your business philosophy?
A: My business philosophy is that the customer comes first. Basically, if we don’t have it in the store, we try to find it for them. We do our best to help out customer. Most of out customers pretty much know what they want. It is just a matter of us trying to find it for them.
Q: What makes your business unique?
A: Our customer service.
Q: Why did you pick Rocky Mount as a place to do business?
A: We live right outside of Rocky Mount.
